Efficacy of iPads in the Delivery of Speech Therapy

Though the use of iPads in speech therapy is relatively new, there is evidence based research that supports the efficacy of iPads in the delivery of speech therapy.  Specifically, in August, 2018 researchers at the University of La Trobe, in Melbourne Australia conducted a lengthy study into all types of electronic devices and applications used on these devices to administer speech therapy. With their evidence based research they determined, "Given the difficulty accessing speech therapy services worldwide, mHealth (mobile health) promises therapy benefits when apps are reliable, valid and easily found" (Furlong, Serry, Erickson, Morris).

The video below is a demonstration and an explanation of how iPads are used to aid in the administration of speech therapy.
